Susan Jacobs, MS, RN has been at the forefront of the national effort to draw much needed attention to one of the most crucial issues facing ILD patients - access to supplemental oxygen. She is the lead author on the results of the first national patient survey of nearly 2,000 supplemental oxygen users and the American Thoracic Society (ATS) Multidisciplinary Oxygen workshop, both published in the Annals of ATS. In addition to her work on oxygen availability, she seeks to improve patient care by focusing on issues related to dyspnea and cough. Ms. Jacobs chairs the Oxygen Special Interest Group of the ATS.
