New Trainees

Dear New ATS Trainee Member:

On behalf of the Society, we would like to personally welcome you to our ATS Community – a professional society of more than 15,000 physicians, scientists, nurses and allied healthcare focused on adult and pediatric pulmonology, critical care and sleep medicine.  We believe that the ATS can serve as your professional home as you begin or continue on with your career.

The ATS and its diverse membership work every day to improve health worldwide by advancing research, clinical care, medical education and public health in respiratory disease, critical illness and sleep disorders.  The Society values the contributions made by early career professionals and understands that it is people LIKE YOU who will make the next big medical breakthrough in the field!  Your membership to the Society is deeply valued and appreciated.

In an effort to make understanding and navigating your membership easier, we have put together a compilation of "Commonly Asked Questions" from early career professionals.  We hope that your interest in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine will continue to thrive and that you will see the benefits of joining our Society.
