Robin Deterding, MD

Dr. Deterding is professor of Pulmonary Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Colorado as well as the Director of the Breathing Institute, Children's Hospital, Colorado.  She is one of the original founders of the chILD Foundation and has served in various capacities since its inception including the Board of Directors, Scientific Advisory Board Chair, and the leader of the Children's Interstitial and Diffuse Lung Disease Research Network. She volunteers a large portion of her time organizing the research network and has dedicated much of her personal research time and funding to chILD initiatives.

Since the start of her career Dr. Deterding has been voted one of Denver's top doctors 3 different times and has been placed in a group of the Best Doctors in America by her peers from 1998-2012. She has been awarded 16 Teaching and Education awards and even has an award named after her for the best performing medical student at the University of Colorado, which is a testament to her teaching. Her service leadership appointments are too numerous to list and she has served on multiple national and international committees. Robin has been an invited speaker for over 150 engagements throughout the world. She has also published almost 50 articles in peer reviewed journals, co-authored 66 abstracts, published 11 invited reviews, 16 book chapters, and been an editor for several books and journal series. She has developed several areas of teaching curricula and served as mentor to many promising fellows and medical students — just to highlight a few of her accomplishments.
