On Tuesday, October 4th we held a virtual roundtable discussion entitled “Self-Advocacy as a User of Supplemental Oxygen.” This event was hosted by the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and was presented as part of the “Lung Disease Week at the ATS” initiative – a program designed to facilitate information exchange between patients and experts on matters relating to lung and airway disorders. This roundtable discussion is a collaborative effort between the ATS Public Advisory Roundtable (PAR), the COPD Foundation and The LAM Foundation.

The panel included experts Mike Hess, MPH, RRT, RPFT, Sr. Director of Public Outreach and Education at the COPD Foundation and Christine A. Slaton, RN, ILD Nurse Coordinator at Stanford Medicine. Other discussants were Sue Sherman, MHA the Chief Executive Officer of The LAM Foundation and Kristen Willard, MS the Executive Vice President of Public and Professional Educational of the COPD Foundation.
