An Introduction to Climate Change and Health: How will a warming world affect pulmonary, critical care and sleep physicians?

The Environmental Protection Agency defines climate change refers to changes in the measures of temperature, precipitation, wind patterns, humidity, among other effects, that can last for several decades. Climate changes are underway and are expected to grow. These changes will threaten human health by increasing risk factors such as heat stress, waterborne diseases, poor air quality and extreme weather events.

The webinar is an introduction to key concepts of this important topic. Earlier this year, a statement on this topic was released: “An Official ATS Workshop Report: Climate Change and Human Health (2012)”. This statement describes climate change and presents recommendations for clinicians and researchers.
