Of the fourteen assemblies of the ATS, the Critical Care Assembly has the largest number of primary and secondary members. The Chair of the Assembly, who serves for two years, represents the Assembly on the ATS Board of Directors and is primarily responsible for developing and evaluating new initiatives, and projects of the Assembly. The Assembly Chair heads an executive committee in which all chairs of the assembly's key committees are represented.
The Nominating Committee is responsible for the selection of the candidates for Assembly Chair (on a bi-annual basis), for Chair of the Program Committee (on an annual basis) and for members of the Nominating committee (2 positions). The candidates face election online via the ATS website. The results are then revealed at the Assembly's Membership Meeting held during the ATS International Conference in May. All other posts are appointed by the Assembly Chair. Information about Working Groups and Committees within the Critical Care Assembly are provided on this Website.
