Despite growing evidence suggesting that ARDS leads to significant morbidity and mortality following hospital discharge, little is known about the long-term pulmonary sequelae among children that survive ARDS. In this podcast, we review the epidemiology, clinical features and conventional/non-conventional treatment options for pediatric ARDS as well as some of the potential rehabilitation strategies to mitigate some of the short- and long-term morbidities that affect survivors.
