RECOVER-ENERGIZE is a unique opportunity to participate in a pulmonary rehabilitation clinical trial.

This study is part of the research initiative funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) designed to address the health effects of Post Acute Sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC or Long COVID). RECOVER-ENERGIZE will randomize 660 participants across two separate studies.

One study is focused on exercise intolerance and the intervention is Personalized Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. Personalized Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation has shown promising initial data for increasing the functional capacity of patients with exercise intolerance due to Long COVID.

The other study is focused on Post Exertional Malaise (PEM) and the intervention is Structured Pacing to assist participants to know, control, and minimize their PEM symptoms.

Adults who have had a past COVID infection and still have 1 or more of the following symptoms may be eligible to take part in RECOVER-ENERGIZE.

  • Exercise intolerance: Shortness of breath or fatigue during physical activity
  • Post-exertional malaise: Worsened symptoms even after minor physical, mental, or emotional activity

Attached is a flyer for potential participants and further information is available at.recovercovid.org.
