How do I know what to disclose? Common questions about managing professional relationships with industry and other partners.

In this podcast, Dr. Kathleen Akgun, Associate Professor of Medicine in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Yale and Director of the Medical ICU at V.A. Connecticut, interviews Dr. Leonard Sicilian, Clinical Director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. Drs. Akgun and Sicilian are Vice-Chairs of the ATS Ethics and Conflict of Interest Committee. Dr. Sicilian has served as the committee’s lead member for conflict of interest management since its inception. He discusses how best to recognize potential conflicts of interest in our professional obligations, and consider strategies for managing conflicts of interest, including recognizing red flags for unmanageable or disqualifying conflicts. ATS policies and procedures for disclosure and management of potential conflicts of interest in ATS activities are also discussed.
